New BMW R 1250 RT for Antwerp
Antwerp’s police is the first police force in Belgium to receive the new BMW R 1250 RT. On the 24th of February, BMW Motorrad Belux delivered 22 new BMW R 1250 RTs to Antwerp’s local police department, making this the very first delivery of the brand-new model in the European market. “We are very pleased that the police has reconfirmed its trust in BMW Motorrad”, said Christian Lambert, Director of BMW Motorrad.
The previous generation BMW RT was traded in for the brand-new BMW R 1250 RT, which was presented just a few months ago.
A real first, in other words, especially because the actual launch of the BMW R 1250 RT is only planned in spring.

The handover took place at Meeusen Motoren, a BMW Motorrad dealership in Wijnegem. The stickering of the motorcycles was done by OTM, a company that is specialised in stickers and sticker design. The radio communication, which is essential for performing police tasks, was installed by ABIOM.
The police has frequently confirmed its trust in BMW Motorrad in the past. In the last 3,5 years, more than 800 motorcycles have already been delivered in Belgium and Luxembourg to local and federal police, the military and local Police services. Besides the BMW R 1250 RT, the sporty BMW F 750 GS is also often used by police.

The motorcycle is equipped with a 10.25" extra-large TFT colour display, an optional integrated navigation map and connectivity. Its excellent readability, clear menu navigation and highly integrated operating concept put the new R 1250 RT at the top of the range of production motorcycles. The split screen gives you an overview of several functions at the same time, such as displaying the on-board computer in addition to the current speed.
